Interview with Tesla Boy

Итак, первый вопрос, который мне всегда хотелось задать. Откуда пришло название “Tesla”? С грузинского сленга это можно перевести как "суперкрутой".

Дима: Тесла - это фамилия великого ученого и единица измерения индукции. А началось все с того, что Антон написал отличную песню под названием “Tesla Boy”...

Tesla Boy: "The Greatest Pop Band in the World Today." Apparently.

Yesterday saw the release of a debut album from Moscow’s Tesla Boy, “Modern Thrills.” Published by the British label Mullet Records, this CD is not only graced with expensive packaging – as shown above; it is also directing its promotional efforts squarely towards a Western audience. Finding any substantial Russian-language text on a Tesla Boy webpage is not easy. That does not mean to say, however, that the band is devoid of any links to homespun music.

The Music Fix - Tesla Boy Interview

We’ve always got our ears well and truly pricked up here at TMF for exciting new bands. So when the infectious pop grooves of Tesla Boy first rang through the office we knew we had to find out more about them. After a quick google we found these young lads weren’t from Sheffield, Manchester or London… They were actually from Moscow. So Adrian Mules checked the validity of his adult day rider and headed out to chat to Anton and Dima to find out more about the greatest band to come out of Russia since... well, probably ever!

Someone sign Tesla Boy before Mother Russia takes them back

When I first heard “Spirit of the Night” I assumed that it was some lost 80′s classic that played to the montage of an 80′s movie (A La Maniac). Turns out its an unsigned Russian Trio.
